Datuk Pee Kang Seng
Executive Deputy Chairman
Datuk Pee Kang Seng is currently the Executive Deputy Chairman of HKT Holdings Sdn Bhd after a stint as the Country Head and Chief Executive Officer of Berjaya Myanmar Holdings Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary Company of Berjaya Land Berhad which is listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
He is a Civil Engineer by qualification with a Bachelor (Hons) in Civil Engineering from University of Glasgow, Scotland. He has professional qualifications of Chartered Engineer C.Eng (UK), Professional Engineer P.Eng (Malaysia) and is also a Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, United Kingdom, an Award for his contribution to the field of Civil Engineering, Project Management and Construction.
His potential and academic excellence were recognised even before he went to College and the University where he was awarded the Pahang State Scholarship to pursue a Diploma in Civil Engineering at the Prestigious Technical College, Kuala Lumpur and the Hock Ann Foundation Scholarship to pursue his Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. At the University, he was also accorded the John Neil Mclean Award for the Most Outstanding Student 1974/1975.
Upon graduation in 1976, he joined Public Works Department until 1981 when he was appointed as the Chief Engineer of Kuantan Port Authority. He left Government Service in 1984 and worked for the Hong Leong Group in various capacities until 1999 including his appointment as the Group Managing Director of Hume Industries (M) Berhad, C.I.Holdings Berhad and Amsteel Corporation Berhad, all companies listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. He was also a Senior Executive Director of Dekon Holdings Sdn Bhd, an Affiliate of the Sunway Group. He has accumulated over 40 years of professional experience in managing companies and creating business valves. He has a host of construction and development experience that includes the construction of highrise buildings, commercial and residential buildings as well as roads and bridges.
